Just a Little Note

Hello loves,
I just noticed today that GFC has been deleted, and it’s back, and I don’t know what to think! I love being able to see all of my amazing followers and keep up with all of your blogs too. I am not sure what’s in store for all of the blogs who use GFC, as I’m not sure if it’s something that will leave again or not! However, I would love to still be able to keep up with you guys. I will post a link to my bloglovin’ and Google+ pages. I am not really a fan of Google+, but if you follow me and post your links in the comments I will follow you right back, I promise!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas...

Hello loves,
I know I said I would be posting a beauty and fashion post next, but I had some wonderful holiday pictures that I wanted to share with you. Also, before I get too far into my post, I wanted to share my love for the film Frozen. I went with my mother and my sister last night, and it was absolutely adorable. I highly recommend it! Anyhow, Christmas is one of my favorite times of year, and the lights, decorations, and snow make for perfect pictures. I recently went to my county fairgrounds, which always decorate their buildings so well for the holidays. I am from a small town, so I guess that is what we do! I just visited since I have been on break from college, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The Pioneer Village, as it is called, is set up with tons of lights, candy canes, and Christmas trees. It is so pretty, and by far one of my favorite ways to get into the Christmas Spirit.

I also love the Christmas tree we have set up at my house. We decorate it as a family, and it is one of the greatest parts of the holiday season. Our tree is one of our more obvious focal points, however, my mom loves her snowmen! We always decorate our family room with them, and they are so darling. She also sets up her nativity sets on our vintage radio in our entry living room, and it is one of the focal pieces of the room. These are some of my favorite parts of my house during the holiday season.

I was so happy to get some of these pictures taken with my new camera. I just bought the Nikon D3200, and I absolutely love it. It is my first DSLR, and I adore using it, especially with all of the gorgeous decorations during the Christmas season.

Again, I am sorry I didn’t do my beauty/fashion post next; it will be coming later in the week I promise! I would love to hear about and see your Christmas favorites. Leave your comments and links to your favorite holiday pictures and posts below!

Much love,
Maggie D. xx

I'm Back & Holiday Favorites

Hello my lovely readers,
I would like to start off with an apology. I have been terrible posting these past couple of months, and I feel absolutely terrible about it. I haven’t posted since September, which is when my life really started to get crazy. I was lucky enough to be able to blog for my college website, drakemagazine.com, and it was an incredible experience. With that commitment, a job, and school, I fell behind on my blogging commitments on this site, and I promise I will keep up posting here in the future.
I just finished my finals for my first semester of college, and it’s crazy to think how fast my first semester went! I have met some amazing people, and I am incredibly grateful for that. I am officially double majoring in Magazines and English, and I couldn’t be happier. I am so excited to resume my classes next semester. I left the city to head back to my small town for six weeks for winter break. It will be great to relax for a while and catch up with my family and friends back home. I will, however, miss all of my friends from college very, very much.
As I’m writing this, I am listening to Christmas music, of course. The holiday season is my favorite time of year! It’s the perfect time to break out the oversized sweaters and hot chocolate while watching your favorite Christmas movies. How can it get any better than that?
Here are a few tips that I have for keeping warm and looking adorable during these chilly winter months:
  • Oversized sweaters: I know I said this before, but these are my absolute favorite! Wearing a warm, cozy sweater is the perfect thing to do during this time of year when you’re busy decorating and getting your last minute gifts ready. They’re easy to throw on, and wearing a statement necklace or earrings will help to dress up your look a bit.
  • Beanies: Have I ever told you how much I love a good beanie? Well, they are my favorite. I love throwing one on before heading out.
  • Boots: THESE ARE MY FAVORITE. I’m sorry about all of the caps, but I live for throwing on a pair of boots. That is my favorite part about the chilly winter months. There are so many styles, and I love getting a new pair to wear during the winter. I am always looking for a fun new pair, so if you recommend any, leave a comment below!
  • During the winter months, I love wearing statement lip colors. The deep, rich colors during these cool months are perfect. I like keeping the rest of my make-up relatively simple when I wear these bold colors. Next week I’ll show you what I love to wear during winter, just in time for all of your holiday parties.

I also just started a Polyvore page that I would love for you to check out. I love that site so much! I will try to keep posting new outfit inspirations there as well. What are your Christmas favorites? Mine are posted below.
